Born in the Land of the Promise

I was born in Jerusalem.

Not the Jerusalem of postcards, the real one. The one where the morning light falls gold across old limestone, where the church bells and the call to prayer cross over the same rooftops, where the ground beneath your feet is the ground you’ve read about your whole life. I grew up walking the same hills where Christ walked. For us, faith was never a Sunday thing. It was the air.

My father is named David.

He is the most faithful man I have ever known. He prays in the mountains of the Holy Land, in the quiet of the caves where believers have gone to meet God for two thousand years. And he is a painter, a Byzantine iconographer. For as long as I can remember, he has painted the sacred icons that hang in churches across the Holy Land: the face of Christ, the saints, the Mother and Child, rendered in gold leaf and patience and prayer. An icon, in our tradition, is not decoration. It is a window, a way to keep God before your eyes, to remember Him, to draw close.

I grew up in a home filled with these images. The word of God on the walls. The face of God in my father’s work, drying on the table. Everything we did, we did for that one reason: to keep Him close, and to help others do the same.

Why I made Promised

I wanted to take what my father puts into his icons, that same purpose, that same reverence, and make something people could carry with them. Not hang on a wall in one church, but wear, every day, anywhere in the world. A cross at the collarbone. A reminder against the skin. A small, beautiful window back to God, no matter where you are or how far the day pulls you from Him.

That is what Promised is.

The name is no accident. This is the Promised Land, the land of the promise God made to His people. And every piece we send out carries that promise with it: that you are seen, that you are kept, that He has not forgotten you. We make jewelry for believers who want to wear their faith proudly and never shy away from it, and for the people who love them enough to give it.

From our hands to yours

Every Promised piece leaves here as a gift is meant to leave, wrapped with care, with a scripture to carry alongside it. Whether you’re buying it for yourself or for a daughter, a granddaughter, a mother who covered you in prayer your whole life, it arrives the way faith should be passed down: with meaning, with beauty, and with love.
